Eryk Nowacki
A graduate in Indian Studies and a master’s degree holder in musicology - this dual academic path has given him a solid foundation for a thoughtful and in-depth approach to music. He has been playing the sitar for over a decade and Indian masters have guided him in exploring the secrets of this art. During his concerts, he employs traditional techniques and enriches them with his own ideas, blending India’s heritage with Western culture. In addition to the sitar, he also plays the saz, an instrument with Persian roots.
In recent years, he has toured extensively, sharing his music on club, festival and chamber music stages in Poland and abroad. He has performed mostly with the band Surtarang, with whom he explores the boundaries between traditional and contemporary sounds. At the same time, he performs in the duo Antara, as a solo artist and as a guest with artists representing a great variety of musical styles. Among his most notable performances are concerts at events such as the Ostróda Reggae Festival, the Wibracje Festival, the Summer Contrast Festival and the Las Festival.
