Joachim Stiller
Mees Joachim is a visual artist and experimental musician from the Netherlands. The artist creates music under a variety of monikers, all of which have their own function and musical flavor. Such monikers include, but are not limited to, Absolute Candor, All Solid Matter Resists, General Filth, Joachim Stiller, Nick Nicole pt.II / Nicolette Nixon, Pink Boah and Zalmroze. With the occasional collaborations with artists such as Yiyi Chen (陈依依), Jerboah and as part of bands such as Mx Fomay and the Baldessaris. Their solo works have been published by Mahorka, BBJTC, C!A Records and Adieux (vanity label).
Live shows are often erratic and improvisational in nature and amalgamations of several projects, whereas a show might be headlined as ‘Absolutely Stiller’ for instance. The artist has done musical and art performances / showcases in a variety of venues, such as Paradiso, de Tolhuistuin, TivoliVredenburg, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Roxanne, etc.
Next to that they occasionally appear on radio with sound works on stations like Radio Tempo Não Pára, which was where Joachim Stiller’s ‘Music For Wireless Telegraphs’ was born, and music themed talkshows like ‘Sounds Between Here and Nowhere’, which is a radio show by Luca Heydt and Mees Joachim.
