The Merricks
Born 8 March 1972 in Geneva (Switzerland), M-E Ackermann a.k.a. The Merricks has played and composed music since he can remember. He also is a writer and a painter. The instruments he plays are electric guitar, piano, synths, drum machines and others, and, notably, he uses no computer programs, only hardware tools for his musical creations. “The Merricks” project started when he began sharing his music on the internet, since the early MySpace times. Since 2009 he has released numerous EPs and LPs, including on netlabels such as Sirona, Petroglyph, God Hates God Records, Hyphen, but mostly through independent self-releasing - first at the Internet Archive and then also on Bandcamp. His latest works are essentially Experimental, Minimal, Ambient, and Meditative Noise ”sound bathes”, as he calls his immersive music.
