Melodies and Voices Cover

Dissociative Identity Quartet is a collective of individuals who all share similar experiences of creating as means to deal with one’s existence. Creative processes as a form of self-help.

In an attempt to liberate the members from recognition and moving focus from the individuals of the collective, the DIQ came to the conclusion that becoming an anonymous mass was the way forward.

Together they started a journey of sonic explorations that lead up to the release of the album Excursions on Cruel Nature Records. An album that was born out of randomly creating sounds and finding ways of using them musically.

Since then, the Dissociative Identity Quartet have been searching for new ways to approach soundscapes. Discoveries have been made.

"Melodies and Voices is an attempt to continue building on the exploration of randomly created sounds as in Excursions, but in a more melodic setting and with the addition of vocals.

Shortly put:
Melodies and Voices is our pop album.

During the creative process we bathed ourselves in jazz, swing and musical theatre. The result is something completely different from our last effort. Melodies and Voices carries pain and struggle, hope and despair. While still rooted in eclectic electronic music and performed on programmed synthesizers. The aim was to crate something organic and vibrant. Our sincere hope is that listeners will find that it got soul."
